Enter your birth time and birthplace. FateSign converts the clock time using the birthplace's time zone, historical daylight saving, and True Solar Time, then calculates the Four Pillars with hidden stems, Ten Gods, twelve life stages, Na Yin, symbolic stars, luck cycles, and branch relationships. You can hand the finished chart to AI for an explanation.
Enter your birth details and your detailed chart appears here.

Pick a city from the search. Its coordinates and time zone are used to find standard time and True Solar Time.
You get the Four Pillars, hidden stems, Ten Gods, symbolic stars, luck cycles by decade, year, and month, a Five Phases radar, and every time-correction step.
The Four Pillars are the stem-branch pairs for the year, month, day, and hour of birth. The day stem is your Day Master. The Ten Gods row names how each stem relates to the Day Master; hidden stems are the stems held inside each branch; the life-stage rows show the Day Master's twelve-stage strength in each branch.
Na Yin, void branches, and symbolic stars are traditional supporting details. Symbolic stars follow FateSign's published rule set, listed in the symbolic star rules on the methodology page, so you can compare them with other calculators.
Luck cycles run forward or backward depending on gender and the polarity of the year stem. The start age is converted from the actual time between birth and the nearest solar-term boundary. Select any luck cycle or year and the chart table switches to that cycle and year. Further reading: What is BaZi?, the Ten Gods, and luck cycles and annual fortune.
BaZi uses the time at the birthplace. The calculator first converts the clock time on your birth record with the birthplace's time zone and that year's rules. For example, China used daylight saving time in the summers of 1986–1991, when clocks ran one hour ahead of standard time.
Whenever a birthplace is given, standard time is then adjusted for its longitude and the equation of time, the same as in the FateSign app. Only births close to a two-hour boundary see the hour or day pillar change. See True Solar Time and time zones, daylight saving, and solar terms.
Year and month pillars change at solar-term boundaries. FateSign compares the real moment of birth with the boundary to the second, so charts for births outside China do not shift year or month because of the time difference.
The usual causes are whether the birthplace time zone and historical daylight saving are applied, whether True Solar Time is used, how the 11 pm–1 am hour is split across days, and how precise the solar-term times are. FateSign separates the early and late Zi hour: for births between 23:00 and 23:59 the day pillar stays on the same day, and the hour pillar uses the next day's Zi hour.
The result lists every correction step and warns you when a birth time sits near an hour or solar-term boundary. For why general chatbots often get charts wrong, see this checklist.
Ages in luck cycles and annual fortune follow traditional East Asian reckoning: you count as 1 in your birth year and add a year with each new year in the chart, so the age shown is usually 1–2 years higher than your age in years. The count starts from the Gregorian year you entered.
No. The calculator is free and your birth details are used only for this calculation and are not stored. You only need an account to save the chart or get an AI reading.
Tick “I don't know my birth time”. The calculator shows the year, month, and day pillars and marks what depends on the hour. See BaZi without an exact birth time.
It is recommended. Without a birthplace the calculator cannot apply True Solar Time; it uses the time zone you choose and shows a note.
Yes. The web calculator and the app use the same engine and rules. When you sign up, the chart carries over without re-entering anything.
They follow a published rule set that states which pillar each star is looked up from and which pillars it is checked against. Symbolic stars are supporting details and should not be read on their own.
BaZi is a traditional cultural and divinatory system, not a scientifically validated forecasting method. Use it for learning and self-reflection, not as a replacement for medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice.
